The Digital Camera

The word “photography” comes from Greek words which, combined, mean “to draw with
light” (from photos, or “light,” and graphis, or “drawing”). Photography is the technique of
recording fixed images on a light-sensitive surface. Digital cameras are based on the
principles of traditional photography, but, instead of fixing images on film coated with chemical
substances sensitive to light, they process the intensity of the light and store the data in digital
files. Modern digital cameras generally have multiple functions and are able to record sound and
video in addition to photographs.

The Digital System
The Sensor that Replaces Film
The CCD (charge-coupled device) is a group of small diodes sensitive to light
(photosites), which convert photons (light) into electrons (electric charges).

Binary system processing
To convert the electric charges of the
photosite (analog) to digital signals, the
camera uses a converter (ADC), which
assigns a binary value to each one of the
charges stored in the photosite, storing
them as pixels (points of color).

ADDITIVE MIXTURE
Each pixel is colored by mixing values of RGB.
Varying quantities of each of these colors can
reproduce almost any color of the visible
spectrum.

The value of each can vary from 0 (darkness)
to 255 (the greatest color intensity).

Resolution
is measured in PPIs, or pixels per square inch—
the number of pixels that can be captured by a
digital camera. This figure indicates the size and
quality of the image.

Compression and Storage

Once the image is digitized, a
microprocessor compresses the data in
memory as JPG or TIFF files.

Even mobiles are serving a good place in capturing images and videos, but still digital cameras are only option if your pretty serious in capturing pictures and their quality.
according to a survey during in 2006, it was found that 110 million number of digital cameras sold worldwide.

Today I am posting some details about scanners, about how did they work.  well scanner is an important machine for offices, school and collage works, any document related works. But Scanners are of many types, scanner which scans documents and converts them into digital data, bar-code scanner, computerized Tomography, finger print  and retina scanner, those who have got their uid or adhar card might know this, and there are myriad number of examples, so, without wasting much time let us jump into real thing

Scanners
Several technologies that digitize, read, detect, and trace images, objects, or signals can be
grouped under this term. The better known are computer scanners and bar-code scanners,
but scanners are also used in medicine, biometric identification, security systems, and
detection of radio frequencies. Some computer scanners incorporate text-recognition software,
which can digitize printed, typed, or even handwritten text. This capability has been very useful in
digitizing a great amount of material at universities and libraries; however, it has also encouraged
pirating in publishing

How an Image Is Digitized
The scanner comes from the phrase “to scan.” An image is scanned by a head that transforms it into digital data.
1.THE ORIGINAL
can be any document with a flat surface, such as a photograph, a paper document, or a page in a book.

2. SCANNER HEAD
analyzes a photograph and converts it into digital information.

3.DIGITAL ARRAY
The data from the sensor are placed in an array
that is used in reconstructing the image

4. IN THE COMPUTER
The image, converted into numerical
data, is displayed on the computer. The
image can be retouched and enhanced
through specialized computer programs

I hope you had seen and enjoyed the previous posts about ipod & LCD TV.
Today, i have come up with DVDs, While researching to creating this post i found some astonishing facts, i hope your are going to become surprise to know how a DVD stores its data and how those data are read / fetched  from it.

DVD

The storage capacity of a DVD, six times that of a traditional CD, has revolutionized the way digital
data is organized and stored in the decade since its appearance in 1997. The DVD explosion
resounded in the world of home movies thanks to its capability of storing entire feature films,
bonus material, and subtitles (in various languages) on only one disc. The evolution of technology,
however, has not stopped with DVDs. Recent years have seen the introduction of discs able to hold 12
times the data of the DVD

Reading with Light
Optical discs (CDs and DVDs) are read by a
laser beam to obtain information. This
information is transformed into a binary electric
signal that is later interpreted and converted into
sounds, images, and data.

1.Laser emitter
generates a laser beam of
a specific wavelength.
2.Mirrors
guide the ray by working in
coordination.
3.  Direction
In order to read the disc,
the laser beam must strike
the surface of the disc
perpendicularly.
4. Lens
focuses the laser beam
before it reaches the surface
of the disc.
5. Reading
The laser beam strikes the
disc's reflective surface. The
reflection varies according
to the pattern of pits on the
disc's surface.
6. Prism
changes the direction of the
laser beam that reflects from
the disc and contains the
data read from the disc.
7. Photodiodes
translate the variations in the
returning laser beam and
convert them into a digital
signal.
Blue  light
Because blue light has a shorter wavelength than
red light (which is used in CDs and DVDs), a blue
laser makes it possible to read smaller pits, which
accounts for Blu-ray's greater storage capacity.

From the CD to Blu-ray
This comparison traces the evolution of the compact disc—especially its storage capacity.

idm has now become a integral part of my system, but i didn't pay for it, nor i use any crack patch or key gen, instead i use  a smart way to to do this. follow the steps and
you will find it easy.

Steps Involved:

Step1: Download the IDM trial or If you already have IDM installed Update it by going toHelp---}} then to check for Updates.

If you don't wanna update your version, Just click on Registration.

Step2When you click on registration, Now a new dialog appears that is asking for Name, Last Name, Email Address and Serial Key.

Step3: Now Enter you name, last name, email address and in field of Serial Key enter any of the following Keys:

RLDGN-OV9WU-5W589-6VZH1
HUDWE-UO689-6D27B-YM28M

UK3DV-E0MNW-MLQYX-GENA1

398ND-QNAGY-CMMZU-ZPI39

GZLJY-X50S3-0S20D-NFRF9

W3J5U-8U66N-D0B9M-54SLM

EC0Q6-QN7UH-5S3JB-YZMEK

UVQW0-X54FE-QW35Q-SNZF5

FJJTJ-J0FLF-QCVBK-A287M
And click on ok to register.

Step4: Now after you click ok, it will show an error message that you have registered IDM using fake serial key and IDM will exit. Now here the hack starts.

Step5:<>
Now Go to START --}} Then go to RUN  and type the following text and click enter:

notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Step6: Now a notepad file appears something like this as shown below:

Now copy the below lines of code and add to hosts file as shown above:

127.0.0.1    tonec.com
127.0.0.1    www.tonec.com
127.0.0.1    registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    www.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    secure.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    www.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    secure.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    mirror.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    mirror2.internetdownloadmanager.com
After adding these piece of code, save the notepad file. And exit from there.
Now start your Internet download manager, and now you IDM has been converted to full version and specially when you update next time, your registration will not expire. That means it will remain full version for life time and you can update it without any problem.

for windows 7 you may get a window like this:

press yes, then go to the place where the "hosts" file is saved, now copy it,
go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc   and replace this host file with your version.
that's it!
