There are times and situations when we fail to get our batteries charge, Blackout, storm,  camping or in a remote village it can happen anywhere, any time. Therefore many new developments are taking place to eliminate this problem. There are several research groups which are developing many new off-grid methods of charging, I found this two gadgets, which are ready, and soon to be marketed.
Two kickstarter project, aiming to provide battery charging facility for your phone.

 1. FlameStower

This clever  gadget makes use of  campfire/gas-stove/naked flame heat, to produce power which can be used to charge your phone  or other USB-charged device.
The best part of it is that, it is much easier to carry, and fits easily in your Backpack.

•It has a max power output of 3W .
•It produces an average output of 2W, which its makers say can yield between 2 to 4 minutes of phone talk-time per minute of charge.
•It produces electricity using its Thermometric Generator, which is basically use the difference between the temperature.
•Therefore apart from heat, you need water too, cold is better! so that, the difference between the temperatures are more.

The team is working to provide a additional storing facility. You can order your own flamestover right now.

2.Hydrobee

Now, its water, as "Hydro" in the name suggest.
its consists of a tiny hydropowered turbine sited in a can with rechargeable batteries and waterproofed electronics, and a USB 2.0 port
It can be used in two ways:

1. When wearing its ‘Stream Body’ It  can be placed in a river or dragged behind a boat — so long as the water is flowing faster than 1.8m/s (4mph) — and two to four hours later its battery will be fully charged.

2. smaller inner unit can also be attached directly to a flowing faucet or hose to charge — so could be used as a back-up power generator for your phone during a power outage (so long as your taps don’t require electricity to pump the water to them).

Once Hydrobee’s battery are charged, you can then plug in a USB device to charge it .

•The internal batteries are 6 x 1.2V AA NiMH rechargeable cells of 2,500 mAh capacity, yielding a total of 15,000 mAh.

•The campaign is looking to raise $48,000 in crowdfunding, with 13 days left to run. If it hits its funding target, Hydrobees will be shipped to backers next March.

Due to the sudden demise of Marcia Wallace on 25th Oct, The Simpson have decided to shut of the character of Mrs Krabappel. But it will may happen after a year or so, because veteran actress and comedienne recorded enough episodes to last another year.
executive producer Al Jean said there was no one who could take her place on the show as Edna, who in recent years overcame her perennial loneliness by becoming the second wife of the Simpson family's neighbor Ned Flanders.

Digital videos were created at the end of the 1950s, video was originally a technology linked to television. Before its invention, programs had to be broadcast live, with all of the inconveniences associated with such a live event. Very soon, new possibilities were found for video, and in 1965, the Korean artist Nam June Paik made the first art video. In 1968, Sony developed the first portable video camera. On the other hand, the launch of the VCR system by Philips in 1970 made viewing movies at home a part of everyday life.

1. IMAGE RECORDER
Digital cameras allow for capturing video as well as for taking pictures, using the same technology.
2. STORAGE
Data is stored as bytes. The image can be reproduced without losing image or audio quality. The level of detail is greater in digital than in analog.

25% more quality than the analog formats The head records and plays back by means of an
electromagnet. Carries the electric signals that represent image and sound.

There are several modes of storing Digital videos, CDs, DVDs, HDDs, or flash Drives etc.

3.REPRODUCTION AND EDITING
What is recorded can be viewed by connecting the camera to a TV, a video recorder, or a printer to print photographs.

4.SEVERAL FORMATS
Different systems and media are used for different applications, depending on the final quality desired.

Born in November 7, 1988.  His father was a lecturer in mathematics and physics. Because of this he was highly interested in mathematics and science from a very tender age. He went to Presidency College in Madras at the age of 13.
In 1904 he passed his B.A. examination, winning the first place and the gold medal in physics; in 1907 he gained his M.A. degree, obtaining the highest distinctions.
This great Indian scientist was awarded the Nobel prize in 1930, Due to his discovery of the Raman effect. He was awarded with numerous other awards namely  Bharat Ratna, Lenin Peace Prize, Franklin Medal, Hughes Medal.
He passed away at the age of 82 in November 21, 1970, Bangalore
What is Raman effect - a change of wavelength exhibited by some of the radiation scattered in a medium. The effect is specific to the molecules which cause it, and so can be used in spectroscopic analysis.

Today, we will see how a Rotary Telephone works

Like me, Many of you might have an interest in older technologies.
so though to share some technical knowledge about this Rotary Telephone

1. Dial

A circular face made of transparent plastic and perforated with figures-sized holes, the dial is turned by the caller to key in a number. The dial runs from 0-9 and typically rotates clockwise

2.Body

The body is faced with the dial mechanism and contains the core components of the system. It is generally made of molded plastic like Bakelite, through early units were build from wood and metals.

3.Switch

This electrical contact dictates the phone’s pulse generation.  When a user keys in a number, the movement of the dial forces the contact to open and close to create a specific number’s dialing pulse.

4.Bell

When an incoming call is awaiting connection,  a brace of mechanical bells at the body are struck by a hammer to produce a ringing noise. Once the handset is lifted, the hammer is disengaged.

5.Receiver

As with a modern phone, the user speaks through a handheld receiver, with the handset comprising both receiver and transmitter ends. When resting on the phone cradle, the line is in a receptive state.

6.Recoil spring

As the dial needs to be rotated a number of times, it connects to a spring. This returns the dial to its starting point and moderates its movement speed and the switch position via a governor

Well in modern days it very necessary to preserve  every drop of water, because in most of the places of the earth, ground level water is fast depleting, causing a acute shortage of drinking water. Automatic tap is  one of the best  choices, to regulate usage of water .
Do you ever wonder how does automatic tap works. Here is how-

Automatic tap Mechanism

Though the animation above, illustrates the whole mechanism clearly. Then also, I am describing the important parts.
  1.  Object, Obviously  in our case its hand.
  2.   A sensor emitting infrared signal, it is the same signal, as in our T.V remote.
  3.  The connection between sensor and solenoid valve is important, it sends signal to solenoid valve to open up, without it valve will not open at any condition.
  4.  Solenoid Valve, this is kind of valve that opens up whenever it gets an electrical signal. Thus creating a passage for water to pass.
  5. other important parts are indicated directly
To understand the working of solenoid valve this video is the best.
